She Wouldn't Pay Her Bills — So the State Took Her PFD

  • In 2022, Shoreside Petroleum sued Wilson, her mother, and her trash company Denali Disposal over unpaid fuel bills.
  • Wilson never answered the complaint in time. The court entered a default judgment of roughly $57,000 against her.
  • To collect, the state garnished her Permanent Fund Dividend two years running — 2023 and 2024. Her mother's PFD was garnished too.
  • Wilson now runs the loudest campaign in Alaska for paying out a full statutory PFD. Hers had to be seized to pay a court judgment.

She Doesn't Cherish Our Historic Markers

  • In November 2017, Wilson's company hauled off Spenard's landmark neon palm tree sign during a federal cleanup.
  • Her defense: she says she was told the sign was debris.
  • A federal judge disagreed, ruling the sign was government property and ordering it returned.
  • A piece of Anchorage history, treated as trash — and it took a federal court to get it back.

  • Wilson's long-term partner was Chris Tuck — the Democratic leader of the Alaska House.
  • On the radio, she spent years co-hosting a daily show with Democrat Ethan Berkowitz, who went on to become Anchorage's Democratic mayor.
  • She built her public profile in partnership with Alaska Democrats, then rebranded as a conservative outsider when it was time to run.

She Ran Interference for Lisa Murkowski

  • August 2022, a gas-price event on Jewel Lake Road that Wilson was running as state director of Americans for Prosperity. Lisa Murkowski turned up.
  • When a Project Veritas journalist moved to question Murkowski about ranked-choice voting, Wilson stepped in and shut it down — "This is our event."
  • It is on tape. Alaska conservatives watched it and asked the obvious question: why was Bernadette Wilson shielding Lisa Murkowski?
  • The senator who ranked-choice voting saved got cover that day — from the woman now asking Republicans to trust her.

Bernadette Wilson is Not Easy to Work With

  • Dropped by KFQD. The station declined to renew her contract for 2016. Management said they were taking the morning slot in a "different direction" and that her show was not bringing in the revenue to stay on air.
  • Out at Americans for Prosperity. Hired as Alaska state director in September 2021, gone by April 2023 — roughly eighteen months.
  • By her own account, AFP never told her why she was let go.
  • A radio station that wanted her gone. A national organization that cut her loose without explanation. Alaska's governor has to hold a coalition together for four years.
